• The Houston Astros look to continue their torrid play when they visit the beleaguered Seattle Mariners on Wednesday for the third contest of their four-game set. Houston captured the first two games of the series, giving it five straight victories and 25 in its last 31 contests. Alex Bregman drove in three runs and was one of five Astros with two hits in Tuesday’s 11-5 victory. Robinson Chirinos and Tony Kemp belted solo homers to help Houston improve to 5-0 against Seattle this season.

• The Mariners continue to plummet downward as they have lost four straight contests and 16 of their last 19. Mitch Haniger homered on Tuesday but couldn’t prevent Seattle from falling to 2-7 on its 11-game homestand.

• Peacock is 3-0 over his last five starts, allowing just three runs and 17 hits over 29 innings during that stretch. The 31-year-old settled for a no-decision against Oakland in his last turn after giving up two runs and five hits over six frames. Peacock picked up a win in relief against Seattle earlier this season as he registered seven strikeouts in 3 1/3 innings to improve to 6-4 with a 4.21 ERA in 19 career appearances (10 starts) versus the club.

• Leake defeated the Los Angeles Angels in his last turn as he gave up two runs and five hits over seven innings. The 31-year-old struggled mightily in his previous two outings, surrendering 12 runs over 11 2/3 frames in losses to Texas and Oakland. Leake went 0-3 with a 5.55 ERA in four starts against the Astros last year and is 6-7 with a 3.92 ERA in 16 career appearances (14 starts) versus the team.

• Mariners 3B Kyle Seager, who is 10-for-29 with two homers against Peacock, has gone hitless in six at-bats in the series.

• Houston LF Michael Brantley has recorded four two-hit performances during his seven-game hitting streak.

• Seattle recalled Andrew Moore, who started on Tuesday and gave up four runs in 4 2/3 innings, from Double-A Arkansas and placed fellow RHP Connor Sadzeck (elbow) on the 10-day injured list.
