• The Colorado Rockies prevented a sweep by winning the series finale against the Arizona Diamondbacks last week before bringing out the brooms in their last set. The Rockies look to extend their winning streak to five contests on Monday, when they begin a seven-game road trip with the opener of a three-game series against the Diamondbacks. Nolan Arenado belted a pair of homers in Colorado’s 7-6 win over Miami on Sunday, marking the fourth time he has gone deep in his last four games – beginning with a two-run, walk-off shot in Wednesday’s 7-6 victory against Arizona. Charlie Blackmon went deep for the second consecutive day and enters the series opener with hits in seven straight and 15 of his last 16 games.

• Wilmer Flores homered for the fourth time in his last six contests on Sunday as the Diamondbacks snapped their four-game skid with a 6-1 romp over San Francisco. The 28-year-old is 12-for-19 with seven RBIs and five runs in that stretch heading into the series with the Rockies, against whom he is 9-for-16 with a homer and seven RBIs this season.

• Gonzalez will get the nod on Monday as he looks to atone for a rough start on Aug. 10, when he yielded five runs and eight hits in five innings of an 8-5 setback at San Diego. The 27-year-old has struggled mightily on the road to the tune of posting an 0-3 record with 13 runs and 20 hits allowed over 15 2/3 frames while permitting the opposition to bat .317 against him. Gonzalez has been taken deep four times in his last three outings.

• Gallen followed a sterling debut in his first start after being acquired from Miami by escaping with a no-decision against Colorado in his next outing. The 24-year-old worked around nine hits to allow just two runs before ending his 90-pitch performance at Coors Field after four innings on Tuesday. Blackmon is 3-for-3 with two doubles versus Gallen, who has flustered left-handed batters (.176).

• Diamondbacks SS Nick Ahmed has gone 19-for-57 with five homers, 14 RBIs and nine runs against Colorado this season.

• Rockies IF Ryan McMahon has collected five homers, eight RBIs and seven runs during his seven-game hitting streak.

• Arizona LF David Peralta, who belted a solo shot on Sunday, is 10-for-33 with two homers and nine RBIs versus Colorado this year.
