• At the midway point of their four-game series against the Seattle Mariners, the Minnesota Twins have proven they can produce victories in different ways. Minnesota hopes to extend its winning streak to five games when it continues its set against the host Mariners on Saturday. The Twins flexed their muscles in the series opener, belting four home runs en route to an 11-6 triumph, but scored six runs without the help of the long ball in Friday’s 7-1 victory. Max Kepler, who hit a solo shot Thursday, went 2-for-4 with three RBIs as seven of the nine players in Minnesota’s lineup registered at least one hit. Ehire Adrianza highlighted his second straight two-hit performance – and third in four games – with a solo homer as the Twins rolled to their ninth win in 12 contests.

• Dee Gordon and Edwin Encarnacion each notched two of the five hits recorded by the Mariners while J.P. Crawford registered the other, giving him at least one in five of the seven games in which he’s appeared this year.

• Berrios on Monday failed to complete six innings for the first time in his nine starts this campaign, when he yielded a season-high five runs and a career-most 12 hits over 5 2/3 frames in a loss to the Los Angeles Angels. The setback ended a five-start winning streak for the 24-year-old Puerto Rican, who also matched a season high with three walks in his first home defeat of 2019. Berrios has made three career starts against Seattle, going 1-2 with a 4.05 ERA.

• LeBlanc is expected to be activated from the injured list and make his first start since April 12, when he settled for a no-decision against Houston after giving up two runs in 4 2/3 innings before exiting with an oblique strain. The 34-year-old native of Louisiana won both his first two turns this season despite yielding eight runs – six earned – and 13 hits over 11 1/3 frames. LeBlanc has made two starts and three relief appearances versus Minnesota in his career, allowing two runs over 14 1/3 innings without recording a decision.

• The Mariners recalled Matt Festa, who yielded one run in two innings Friday, and purchased the contract of fellow RHP Ryan Garton from Triple-A Tacoma while optioning RHP Erik Swanson to the Rainiers and designating LHP Zac Rosscup for assignment.

• Minnesota placed DH Nelson Cruz (wrist) on the 10-day injured list Friday and recalled 2B Luis Arraez from Triple-A Rochester.

• Seattle claimed RHP Andrew Moore off waivers from San Francisco and assigned him to Double-A Arkansas.
