The New York Knicks attempt to halt a 10-game losing streak when they visit the Golden State Warriors on Wednesday in a battle between the NBA’s two worst teams. New York played its second game under interim coach Mike Miller on Tuesday and was blown out 115-87 by the host Portland Trail Blazers for its eighth 20-point loss of the campaign. Miller, a former college and G League coach, said he is glad the club doesn’t have a day off after being dominated by the Trail Blazers. “We’re thankful that we have this game now to have a chance to get right back out and let’s get a chance to play,” Miller said after Tuesday’s setback. “Get back out on the court, play the game, and let the game come to you and just do all the things that the guys know to do.”

Golden State has traditionally dominated the Knicks and has won 10 straight meetings and 27 of the past 33 but the club hasn’t notched back-to-back victories this season with guards Stephen Curry (hand) and Klay Thompson (knee) out with lengthy injuries. “It’s a difficult season for a lot of reasons,” Warriors coach Steve Kerr said after Tuesday’s practice. “What our job is is to get as comfortable as possible under the circumstances and to help individual players along in their own development.”

The starting lineup had 32 points against Portland with 15 of them coming from forward Julius Randle. Rookie guard RJ Barrett had five points on 1-of-9 shooting and the first-round pick is 13-of-52 shooting over the past five games, scoring in single digits three times while averaging 8.8 during the stretch. New York has allowed more than 110 points six times during its 10-game slide while losing by 28 or more in four of the past seven contests.

Golden State is 2-8 in its sparkling new home venue in San Francisco and that type of poor record is just another oddity to a franchise used to competing for championships. “For the last five years, we played nine-month seasons. This is a seven-month season this year the way things are going,” Kerr said. “It is a totally different situation.” Golden State dropped a 110-102 decision to the visiting Memphis Grizzlies on Monday as guard D’Angelo Russell (6-of-22) and forward Eric Paschall (2-of-10) suffered through poor shooting nights.

The Knicks have dropped five straight road games against the Warriors, last winning 89-84 on March 30, 2014 in Oakland.

Golden State PF Draymond Green matched his season high of 16 points in the loss to Memphis.

New York F Kevin Knox is 8-of-30 shooting over the past four games.
