• The Green Bay Packers’ lofty standing atop the NFC North is being threatened by a Detroit Lions’ club that has knocked them down a few pegs in the last four meetings. The Packers aim to answer being swept in the season series in each of the last two years on Monday night when they host the Lions at Lambeau Field. “I like the vibe on the team. I think we’re having a lot of fun,” said quarterback Aaron Rodgers, who saw Aaron Jones earn NFC Offensive Player of the Week honors after rolling up a career-best 182 scrimmage yards and franchise high-tying four rushing touchdowns in Green Bay’s 34-24 victory over Dallas last Sunday. Jones leads the NFL with eight rushing touchdowns in 2019 and has rumbled into the end zone in six straight games at Lambeau Field.

• Detroit’s Matthew Stafford, who is well-rested after the team’s bye, needs 352 yards in his 146th career game to become the fastest player in NFL history to reach 40,000 for his career. Stafford traditionally has tormented the Packers to the tune of throwing for multiple touchdowns in nine consecutive encounters, one shy of Hall of Famer’s Dan Marino’s run of dominance against the New York Jets from 1991-97.

• Kerryon Johnson rolled up 157 scrimmage yards in Detroit’s 34-30 loss to Kansas City on Sept. 29, one of many efforts by the 22-year-old that have caught the attention of Hall of Fame running back Barry Sanders. “I think he’s progressing as a young running back, I think he’s melded nicely into the offense,” Sanders said, per MLive.com. “He’s been there when Matt (Stafford) and the offense has needed him.” Kenny Golladay leads Detroit with 19 receptions, 15 of which have resulted in first downs while four have ended up in the end zone. The 6-foot-4, 214-pound Golladay has two touchdowns in as many career games versus Green Bay while deep threat Marvin Jones Jr. has found the end zone on seven occasions in six meetings with the Packers.

• Two-time Pro Bowl wide receiver Davante Adams didn’t sound too optimistic this week that a return to action was imminent after sustaining a turf toe injury in a 34-27 loss to Philadelphia on Sept. 26. “It is a major injury so it’s something that we gotta pay attention to and make sure we monitor in the correct way to make sure that it’s not something that gets re-aggravated later on in the season or I come back a little too early and really mess the thing up,” the 26-year-old said. Adams’ absence last week was felt by Rodgers, who completed just four passes to wide receivers — with two going to Geronimo Allison for 28 yards. Fellow wideout Marquez Valdes-Scantling was limited to season lows in catches (one) and receiving yards (18) last week while nursing hamstring and calf injuries.

• Detroit has won three of its last four visits to Lambeau Field after losing 24 in a row in Green Bay.
