• A 4-1 win at Wycombe on Monday night saw Tottenham extend their unbeaten run to eight matches in all competitions. However, Spurs have won just two of their last seven league games and have lost their last six meetings with Liverpool.

• The Reds, though, are struggling at the moment and the defending champions have won only one of their last seven competitive outings, that a 4-1 win at an inexperienced Aston Villa. Liverpool have now failed to score in four successive league games, which doesn’t bode well against a side with one of the best defensive records in the league.

• Tottenham couldn’t be facing Liverpool at a better time and they could inflict further misery upon this downtrodden Reds outfit on Thursday night.
