The line for this game is Baylor by 7.5 points.

In what has already been a record-breaking season for the program, Baylor finds itself on the verge of adding a couple more impressive feats to its resume. The second-ranked Bears attempt to win at least 10 road games in a season for the second time in school history and look to become only the third team in Big 12 history to earn eight conference road victories Saturday when they visit TCU. Baylor quickly moved past the 64-61 setback at home against Kansas last Saturday that ended its Big 12-record 23-game winning streak by establishing a 34-point lead late in Tuesday’s game against Kansas State before settling for an 85-66 victory. “I think that’s one of the strengths of our team all year long is we’ve shown up, we’ve played (and) we’ve competed. There was no mental lapse or letdown after our last home game,” Bears coach Scott Drew said. Baylor will attempt to do no worse than remain tied atop the conference with the Jayhawks by completing a sixth regular-season sweep of a Big 12 opponent this season after cruising to a 68-52 win over TCU on Feb. 1.

The Horned Frogs lost for the eighth time in nine true road games following Tuesday’s 65-59 defeat at Iowa State, but they are 13-4 at home this season and beat No. 19 West Virginia 67-60 last Saturday in Fort Worth.

Freddie Gillespie (9.6 points, team-high 8.8 rebounds, 2.2 blocks), who accounted for 12 points, 11 rebounds and a career-high six blocks in the first meeting versus the Horned Frogs, posted his 10th double-double of the season Tuesday with 10 points and 11 boards. Reserve Matthew Mayer (4.8 points) continued to justify his recent increase in playing time, setting career highs in points (19) and minutes (20), scoring at least 10 points for the third time in four outings. Fellow sophomore guard Davion Mitchell (9.9 points, 3.9 assists), who was one of five Bears to hit multiple 3-pointers and reach double figures versus the Wildcats, finished with 14 points and a career-high 10 assists for his first career double-double.

The Horned Frogs were forced to play Tuesday without second-leading scorer RJ Nembhard (12.2 points), who suffered a groin injury during warmups; coach Jamie Dixon told the Fort Worth Star-Telegram that his sophomore guard avoided structural damage and his ability to play Saturday will be a “pain management decision.” Desmond Bane (team-high 15.9 points, 6.4 rebounds, team-high 3.8 assists), who leads the Big 12 with 75 made 3-pointers, paced TCU in points (22), rebounds (11) and assists (five) for the fifth time this season. Sophomore center Kevin Samuel (10.4 points, team-high 8.7 rebounds, team-high 2.8 blocks) was unable to improve on his 11 double-doubles with only six points Tuesday, but he collected 10 boards and swatted at least two shots for the sixth straight game.

Baylor sophomore G Jared Butler (team-high 15.7 points) has knocked down at least four 3-pointers in four straight games and six of his last seven.

Samuel needs four more blocks to tie Vladimir Brodziansky (82; 2016-17) for second place on the school’s single-season list.

The Bears have lost in their last two trips to Fort Worth after winning each of the previous five.
