• Osasuna have enjoyed a solid start to the season, winning two, drawing two and losing just once in their first four games. The Pamplona side recovered from a 4-1 defeat to Valencia last time out with a comfortable 2-0 win over Alaves thanks to goals from David Garcia and Roberto Torres.

• Betis endured a sluggish start to the campaign, but they have recovered well since, and they have only lost one of their first five games, coming off second best against Real Madrid. Manuel Pellegrini’s men can be pleased with their start overall, winning twice up until now, but they will have to pick themselves back up off the canvas here following a crushing draw last time out.

• Betis looked as though they would see out a 2-1 win with 10-men over Espanyol after an own goal and a Nabil Fekir strike, but they conceded a 97th-minute equaliser. That might just be difficult to recover from, and given Osasuna’s solid start, this one could well end in a draw with few goals.
