• Granada were on a concerning run following back-to-back defeats, losing heavily to Rayo Vallecano before conceding a late winner against Real Betis, but they turned things around with a fine result last time around. The Andalusian side picked up a point away to Barcelona thanks to Domingo Duarte’s goal in the first two minutes, though they did go on to concede a late second half equalizer.

• Real Sociedad, meanwhile, claimed a good point of their own, drawing with Sevilla despite their injury issues, which continue to mount up ahead of this one.
