Boston College will try to avoid looking too far ahead when it hosts Buffalo on Saturday in the second of four straight home games. The Eagles are coming off a 42-10 rout of Wagner last week and will host third-ranked Clemson under the lights at Alumni Stadium on Oct. 7, all part of a wacky schedule that took the team to Ireland, Virginia and nearby Foxborough before it finally settled in at home last week.

Redshirt freshman Tyree Jackson threw for 178 yards and a touchdown and also ran for two scores to lead the Bulls back last week. Jackson – who is listed at 6-7 and 245 pounds – has yet to be sacked since taking over midway through the second quarter of a season-opening loss to Albany and has amassed 181 rushing yards (along with 433 through the air) in his two-plus games. Buffalo ranks second among FBS teams in pass defense, allowing 110 yards per game.

Addazio said the team was focused on rediscovering its rushing attack and he had to be pleased to see the Eagles roll up 300 yards on the ground against Wagner. Jon Hilliman rebounded from a 10-carry, two-yard effort at Virginia Tech to gain 83 yards and two TDs, and Patrick Towles added two rushing scores to go along with two through the air. Towles did not throw an interception for the first time but will want to improve upon a completion percentage that sits at 49.4 through the first four games.

Eagles WR Jeff Smith has three TDs among his six catches over the last three weeks.

Buffalo has committed 18 penalties, tied for 23rd-fewest among FBS teams, while Boston College has been flagged for 31, which is 109th.

The Bulls are 1-25 all time against opponents from power five conferences.
