• Bacary Sagna is Pep Guardiola’s only main injury concern ahead of his return to Camp Nou. Fabian Delph has returned to training, but is unlikely to make the squad. Sergio Aguero is set to start having featured from the bench against Everton.

• Jasper Cillessen is ruled out for the home side. Luis Enrique has confirmed Sergi Roberto and Jordi Alba are over their fitness concerns and ready to play. Samuel Umtiti is expected to get the nod ahead of Javier Mascherano at the heart of the defence, although has only just returned from injury himelf.

• Barcelona top Group C having won their two Champions League games this season. The La Liga champions have conceded just one goal across their two European outings and will be confident of once again getting the better of Manchester City.

• Pep Guardiola returns to Camp Nou for the second time as opposing manager and will hope for a better performance than his previous visit, where his Bayern Munich side fell to a 3-0 loss. However, City have lost their four Champions League meetings with Barcelona, which adds to the pressure coming into this tie.

• This will prove to be a good test to determine how far along City have come under Guardiola, but Barcelona should win here.
