@ Minnesota Lynx (4-5)

Current odds:

Chicago Sky: (+145)

Minnesota Lynx: (-165)

• The line for this game is Minnesota by 3.5 points.

• Neither the Chicago Sky nor the Minnesota Lynx are at the .500 mark this season, but both have reason for optimism after recent results. The teams meet Tuesday night in Minneapolis with Chicago seeking its third straight win and Minnesota aiming to hit the elusive .500 benchmark. “We just wanted to win the game, whether it was by one or 21 points,” said Lynx coach Cheryl Reeve Saturday night after her team outscored the Los Angeles Sparks 23-7 in the fourth quarter of an 80-64 home triumph. “I thought our protection of the paint was mostly good. It’s just the second time this year we’ve held a team under 40 percent.”

• To be exact, Minnesota (4-5) limited the Sparks to 32.9 percent shooting in a chippy game that saw the teams combine for six technical fouls. Crystal Dangerfield came off the bench to hit four 3-pointers and score a team-high 16 points, enabling the Lynx reserves to earn a 41-2 scoring advantage that made the difference. Rachel Banham added 12 points off the bench, including a couple of key 3-pointers that got the ball rolling in the fourth quarter.

• Meanwhile, the Sky (4-7) made it back-to-back wins over hapless Indiana Saturday with an 83-79 decision in Indianapolis as Allie Quigley scored their last six points. Her 3-pointer with 1:50 remaining snapped a 77-77 tie.

• Candace Parker delivered her first double-double with Chicago, scoring 20 points and grabbing 14 rebounds. It was the 135th double-double of her career, fourth in WNBA history behind only Sylvia Fowles, Tina Charles and Lisa Leslie. Parker also passed Dawn Staley and Teresa Weatherspoon on the league’s all-time assist list Saturday with four, giving her 1,341 in her career. That ranks 12th in league history.

• Chicago is 3-2 on the road and Minnesota is 4-2 at home. These teams have not met head to head yet this season.
