This is the largest spread of the XFL season, and it’s kind of surprising to me. The Guardians looked awful in Week 2, but they did play well in Week 1, especially on the defensive side of the ball. In Week 2, however, the Guardians became the first team in the XFL to get shut out as quarterback Matt McGloin was benched in the fourth quarter. McGloin finished 8-of-19 for 44 yards with no scores and two interceptions.

I expect a better performance from the Guardians in Week 2, but it will be a tough matchup against the BattleHawks. Not only is this a talented roster, but St. Louis will be playing its first home game of the XFL season this week. St. Louis has a loyal fanbase, and fans are ready to cheer on football again after the Rams left.

But just from a football perspective, the BattleHawks have been impressive through two games. Quarterback Jordan Ta’amu is second in the league in passing (493) and third in the league in rushing (109). And St. Louis lost a close 28-24 game to end Week 2. Look for the BattleHawks to rely on Ta’amu and its rushing attack en route to a win over New York.
