Anthony Ralston has been sidelined since September but was named on the bench in Sunday’s draw with St. Johnstone. Brendan Rodgers is expected to go with a similar XI to the side that won the first leg 1-0, which may see 20-year-old Eboue Kouassi retain his spot in midfield. Loan signing Charly Musonda may have to settle for a place on the bench once more and make an impact in the second half if required. Jozo Simunovic will incur a one-match ban if he is booked on Thursday.

Denis Terentjev has not featured for Zenit since November but was named as a substitute in the 1-0 loss to Celtic last week. Branislav Ivanovic will push for a recall after only managing a spot on the bench in Scotland, while Dmitriy Poloz will also hope to start on Thursday. Aleksandr Erokhin is one booking away from a one-match ban.

Zenit have it all to do in order to progress to the next round of the Europa League after losing the first leg 1-0, failing to score a crucial away goal in Scotland last week. They progressed from the group stage with a 100 per cent home record.

Celtic are in the box seat to progress but still have a lot of work to do. Away from home, they have only won two of their last seven competitive matches but know a draw would be good enough on Thursday.

Zenit have won eight of their last 10 Europa League home matches and will believe they can score enough goals to qualify for the next round. Will Celtic fall just short?
