Irvin’s outing of four runs (three earned) allowed over six innings his last time out marked the first time he’s given up more than two runs in a start since April 8. The left-hander has been a revelation for Oakland, posting a 3.29 ERA in seven starts this season.

Twins: Jose Berrios (3-2, 3.49 ERA, 1.14 WHIP, 43 strikeouts)

Berríos has faced the A’s once already this season, allowing just one run in five innings but taking the loss in Oakland on April 20. He’ll get a chance to redeem himself against the A’s at Target Field.
