The Braves blew it in the second game of this series, losing a late lead by giving up four runs in the eighth inning. Despite the small blip, they’ve still been playing really well recently, and I’m not too concerned. Even with the loss, they’re still 11-4 in their last 15 games, and they’ve really been turning it on after a somewhat slow start to the season. They’re 7-2 in their last nine road games, and don’t show much of a drop-off when playing away from home. They’ll have Julio Teheran on the mound here as they look to close out this series with a bang. Teheran has been having a good season overall, but he’s been lights out over the past month. Across four May starts, he’s given up just ten hits and two total runs.

The Braves have still won five of their last six times playing at Busch Stadium, so it’s safe to say they’ve owned this matchup recently. The Braves’ new-look offense has the potential to be the best in the league. Having Austin Riley, Ronald Acuna Jr., and Freddie Freeman now all in the lineup is just unfair, and they should be able to get to Flaherty here.

The Cardinals got a win they desperately needed on Saturday. They’ve been slipping for a while now, and it looked like they were going to drop another one when they battled back in the eighth. That being said, they still haven’t looked good over the past month. Even with the win, they’re just 6-15 in their last 21 games. As they look to steal the rubber match, they’ll turn to Jack Flaherty here. Flaherty has been consistently mediocre this year, and enters with a 4.19 ERA. He’s shown a startling lack of control, walking 14 batters over his past four starts. He just pitched against this Braves team a couple weeks ago, and issued five walks and three runs in six innings.

Outside of a few outburst the lineup really hasn’t been hitting, and in eight of their last 16 games, they’ve scored two or fewer runs.
