• Yasmani Grandal made a triumphant return to Dodger Stadium and hopes to help his new team beat his old one again when the Milwaukee Brewers visit the Los Angeles Dodgers on Saturday. Grandal, who hit 89 home runs over the last four seasons with the Dodgers before leaving as a free agent, belted his fourth of the year to help the Brewers snap a three-game slide with an 8-5 triumph on Friday.“I spent the last four years here, so this was like coming back home,” Grandal, who received his National League championship ring on Friday, told reporters before going 3-for-4 to raise his average .385 with four homers and eight RBIs. “I don’t think it really feels strange. When I was out there hitting in early (batting practice) today, I felt like I was sitting at home. The only difference is, I’m in the other dugout.”

• The Dodgers, who lead the NL in runs (101) and homers (32), have lost five straight with their starters allowing 21 runs in 21 innings during the slide. Cody Bellinger (.417) resumed his fast start by going 2-for-4 with his NL-leading eighth home run of the season Friday after he was held in check (3-for-12) as the Dodgers were on the wrong end of a four-game sweep in St. Louis earlier in the week. Milwaukee’s Zach Davies is off to a promising start after an injury-plagued 2018 and takes the ball Saturday while the Dodgers were undecided between a bullpen game or a late minor-league call-up.

• Davies allowed two unearned runs, five hits and two walks in 5 2/3 innings of a 4-2 victory over the Chicago Cubs on Sunday. The 26-year-old native of Arizona, who made only 13 starts last season because of back and shoulder injuries, opened 2019 by yielding two runs, four hits and four walks while striking out six in five frames of a 4-3 win at Cincinnati on April 1. Davies is 2-1 with a 2.59 ERA in four starts versus Los Angeles but his last two appearances came in 2017, when he won both with 13 strikeouts in 13 scoreless innings.

• Ferguson makes his first start of the season in an expected bullpen game in place of injured lefty Hyun-Jin Ryu. Long reliever Dennis Santana likely to also see action.
• Brewers LHP Josh Hader (0.00 ERA) allowed one hit and one walk while striking out 13 in his first five games this season prior to yielding two hits and a walk with two strikeouts in 1 1/3 innings on Friday.
• Dodgers IF Max Muncy (.256, four home runs, 11 RBIs) was limited to pinch-hitting duties on Friday because of a finger injury and struck out against Hader in the eighth inning.
•  Milwaukee 3B Travis Shaw (1-for-17 this season) took batting practice but did not play Friday after getting hit on the right hand with a pitch and leaving in the second inning of Wednesday’s road game against the Los Angeles Angels.
