• Los Angeles Dodgers left-hander Hyun-Jin Ryu has been a pain in the Arizona Diamondbacks’ neck this season, beating them twice in as many starts. Ryu (11-2, 1.53 ERA) will attempt to continue that dominance Sunday in his first start since being activated from a short stint on the injured list with some pain in his own neck.

• The Diamondbacks will counter with right-hander Mike Leake (9-8, 4.24), who will be making his second start for them since being acquired from Seattle at the trade deadline.

• The Dodgers recorded their 13th shutout with a 4-0 victory Saturday, and there was no hangover after benches cleared following the Diamondbacks’ 3-2, 11-inning victory Friday. Dugouts emptied after Archie Bradley struck out Will Smith to end the game and then had words with the Dodgers’ bench.

• Ryu, the National League Cy Young favorite, has limited Arizona to one run and seven hits in 13 innings this season. He threw six scoreless innings in his most recent start, a 5-1 win in Colorado on July 31, but landed on the injured list after waking up with neck soreness the next day.
