Cricket T20 World Cup: England v. New Zealand

Who will WIN this matchup?

England

New Zealand

Current odds:

England: (-188)

New Zealand: (+150)

After taking 39 wickets from a possible 40 in their first four matches, the England bowlers experienced a dramatic change in fortune during their last game against South Africa, with only two wickets taken. Chris Jordan could manage only 0/36 (his worst figures in ten matches), Mark Wood’s 0/47 was his second worst T20I figures ever, while Chris Woakes’ 0/43 was the worst return he has ever delivered in a T20I.

New Zealand enter the playoff stage riding a four-match winning streak, and while they have not won five T20Is in a row since 2016, they are blessed with match-winning players capable of completing such a streak. If one of at least Trent Boult (3/20 and 3/17), Martin Guptill (93 from 56 balls) or Daryl Mitchell (49 from 35 balls) can repeat their Super 12s efforts, the Black Caps will likely find themselves in a winning position at some stage of the contest to take a measure of revenge for their Super Over loss to England in the ODI World Cup Final.
