The Sacramento Kings attempt to snap an 11-game losing streak in Portland when they visit the Trail Blazers on Wednesday. Sacramento last emerged victorious in Portland when it notched a 99-80 triumph Dec. 8, 2012 during Trail Blazers star Damian Lillard’s rookie season. Lillard is in his eighth season and is averaging 31 points in two games against the Kings this season. He had just 16 points on 5-of-15 shooting in Portland’s 117-97 loss to the Los Angeles Clippers on Tuesday as the club’s three-game winning streak came to an end.

Sacramento suffered a disappointing 113-106 home loss to the Chicago Bulls on Monday after it led by 11 points nine-plus minutes into the contest before later staring at an 11-point halftime deficit en route to the setback. “We took them lightly. We didn’t respect them enough,” Kings shooting guard Buddy Hield said afterward. “We were up by 11 and we got too cool. When you give a team confidence, they come back to bite you quick.”

Sacramento opens a four-game road trip at a time in which it can’t be sure sharpshooter Bogdan Bogdanovic will be available for every game because of a hamstring injury. Bogdanovic suffered the injury while establishing career highs of 31 points and seven 3-pointers against the Phoenix Suns on Nov. 19 but was again been visibly bothered by the ailment while playing 22 minutes against the Bulls. “This hamstring cannot get worse than it is now, but I struggle with it,” Bogdanovic told reporters. “It hurts all the time. When I bend, it’s there, the pain is there. But it’s something I have to deal with, I have to play with consistent pain but no excuses.”

Forward Carmelo Anthony experienced his lowest-scoring output in seven games since joining the squad when he had nine points on 2-of-9 shooting against the Clippers. Anthony had averaged 22.3 points during Portland’s three-game winning streak as he quickly displayed he can mesh with Lillard and shooting guard CJ McCollum. Center Hassan Whiteside recorded 18 points and 13 rebounds against Los Angeles for his 11th double-double of the season and fifth straight game with 12 or more rebounds.

Bogdanovic averaged 20.5 points as the teams split two games in Sacramento earlier this season.

McCollum scored 20 points against the Clippers for his ninth straight effort of 20 or more.

Hield scored 26 points versus Chicago and is averaging 27.5 over the past four games.
