• When Reed (19.4 points, 5.1 rebounds) is healthy, he and Shelton Mitchell (14.5 points) form an outstanding backcourt duo. If he remains sidelined, the offense has to run through Elijah Thomas (13.9 points, 8.1 rebounds), who was slowed by an ankle injury early in the season but put up 25 points and 14 rebounds against Charleston Southern. Aamir Simms (11.2 points) also has emerged as an offensive weapon and a 3-point threat — he’s 18-for-46 from long range.

• The Gamecocks are relying heavily on their freshman class, including leading scorer A.J. Lawson (13.6 points, 3.5 assists). Chris Silva (11.1 points, 6.6 rebounds) is the team’s only other double-digit scorer, although guard Hassani Gravett (9.9 points) is just below that mark.
