•  The line for this game is Seton Hall by 3 points.

• Louisville will head to New Jersey to play Seton Hall on Saturday, riding a wave of emotion following the biggest win of the Chris Mack era. The Cardinals knocked off No. 8 Michigan State 82-78 in overtime Tuesday behind a breakout game from Ryan McMahon but should be wary of a letdown against the surging Pirates. McMahon scored 24 points – his first career 20-point game – as the Cardinals beat a top 10 team for the first time under their second-year coach Mack. The Cardinals, who took advantage of a fairly easy schedule to open 3-0, were coming off a pair of losses to No. 7 Tennessee and to Marquette in overtime, and could have easily suffered a similar fate against the Spartans.

• The duo of Myles Powell, who has averaged 25.3 points over the last three games thanks to a career-high 40-point game against Grand Canyon, and Michael Nzei carried the Pirates to the championship in the Wooden Legacy in California with three straight wins.

As they have done all season, the Cardinals feasted at the foul line against Michigan State, making 30-of-41, including 12-of-13 by McMahon. Louisville has made 36 more free throws than its opponents have attempted (163 to 130) and leads the nation in free throw attempts per field goal attempt (65.5 percent) and with 31.8 percent of its points coming on free throws. The top four scorers for the Cardinals – Jordan Nwora, McMahon, Darius Perry and Steven Enoch – all make better than 81 percent from the line, led by McMahon, who is fourth nationally at 95.7 percent.

• Quincy McKnight has been the definition of feast or famine for the Pirates, scoring 41 points in three games and eight in the other three games. The junior from Bridgeport, Conn., came up big against Miami (Fla.) in the championship game of the Wooden Legacy on Sunday, notching a season-high 16 points and five assists. After some early struggles, sophomore Taurean Thompson has been more effective during the winning streak, averaging nine points and nearly 15 minutes for the Pirates, who trail 13-6 in the series with the Cardinals.

• Powell made a big 3-pointer late as the Pirates knocked off the Cardinals 79-77 in Louisville last season to snap a five-game losing streak in the series between former Big East rivals.

• Nzei, who is averaging 11.2 points and 5.0 rebounds, ranks fifth in the country in field goal percentage at 77.1 percent.

•  Louisville had lost 11 of their last 14 games against ranked teams, including five straight against those ranked in the top 10.
