Senior guard Skylar Mays led the Tigers with 17 points on 7-for-12 shooting against Kentucky, and the team’s leading scorer at 16.5 points per game enters the weekend shooting 50.2 percent from the field. Sophomore forward Darius Days recorded his eighth double-double of the season (second in the past three games) with 13 points and 11 rebounds. The Tigers had their third-worst shooting performance of the season against Kentucky while allowing 50 percent shooting from 3-point range.

Senior forward Maik Kotsar scored 24 points against Mississippi State, one off his career high, on 11-for-17 shooting from the field with seven rebounds, but the rest of the Gamecocks starters combined to shoot just 12-for-33. Sophomore guard AJ Lawson leads South Carolina in scoring at 13.7 points and is shooting 35 percent from 3-point range, going 2-for-7 from long range Wednesday. But the Gamecocks committed 15 turnovers and 24 fouls Wednesday, and were outscored by 14 points at the free-throw line to lose for just the second time since Jan. 22.

LSU snapped a three-game losing streak to South Carolina with last season’s 89-67 victory.
