Current odds:

Seton Hall Pirates: (-110)

Providence Friars: (-110)

• The line for this game is even.

• With its season on the line, Desi Rodriguez came up with the biggest game of his career for Seton Hall, which will go for a second straight victory Wednesday in a Big East game at Providence. The senior overcame a slow start to score a career-high 33 points Sunday as the Pirates narrowly defeated DePaul to end a four-game skid that had threatened their postseason hopes. With an RPI of 25 and wins over the likes of Louisville, Butler and No. 7 Texas Tech, Kevin Willard’s team probably wasn’t in much danger of missing the NCAA Tournament, but a loss to the Blue Demons wouldn’t have helped.

• The Friars are in the same boat, needing as many wins as possible to pad their resume in hopes of making the tournament for a fifth straight season. A victory last week over No. 3 Villanova combined with earlier wins over No. 4 Xavier, Butler and Creighton have Ed Cooley’s team on pace for another 20-win season provided that it does not falter late.

• The riddle that is Khadeen Carrington is one that has yet to be solved by the Pirates, who have gone 4-7 since opening conference play with three straight victories. The senior and 10th-leading scorer in Seton Hall history with 1,680 career points is running cold again after enjoying a hot spree in late January and early February, including 23 points in a 73-57 victory over Providence on Jan. 31. Carrington fouled out against DePaul for the third time in the last four games and is 11-of-40 from the field over the last three contests.

• Aside from Kyron Cartwright enjoying a milestone by becoming the third Providence player with 600 career assists, the Friars would probably like to forget Saturday’s loss to Butler. After opening the game by making seven of its first 10 field goal attempts, Providence went 11-of-50 the rest of the way and finished with a season-low 54 points. Alpha Diallo was the only starter to make it into double figures with 11 points despite the continuation of a shooting slump that has seen the sophomore go 8-of-33 over the last three games.

• The Friars, who lead the series 52-50 including 27-15 at home, need one Big East win to post five straight seasons of .500 or better in league play for the first time in school history.

• With 16 points and 19 rebounds against DePaul, Angel Delgado recorded his 68th career double-double for the Pirates.

• Cartwright joined Ernie DiGregorio (662) and Vincent Council (725) as the Providence players with 600 or more assists.
