• Fourth-ranked Tennessee, which suffered its only loss against No. 1 Kansas in overtime, looks to go into the Christmas break with six straight victories when it hosts Wake Forest on Saturday afternoon. The Volunteers have averaged 87 points during their winning streak, including 102 at Memphis last Saturday and an 83-70 triumph against Samford on Wednesday. Junior forward Grant Williams and senior guard Admiral Schofield lead the way for Tennessee, scoring 38.4 per game combined, but junior point guard Jordan Bone joined the party with career highs of 24 points and 11 assists versus Samford.

• Wake Forest won its last two games, including an impressive 67-63 victory against talented Davidson on Monday, and coach Danny Manning said: “I thought defensively we were active. And I thought we did some pretty good things being active and flying around and making multiple efforts.” Junior guard Brandon Childress, who leads the team in scoring (16.8), told reporters the Demon Deacons, “gotta come in from the get-go and keep our foot on the gas and go from there,” against the Volunteers on Saturday.

• Childress is averaging 18.6 points over the last five games and has connected on 23-of-47 from 3-point range overall while sophomore backcourt partner Chaundee Brown (10.6) scored 14.3 per contest the last four. Freshman forward Jaylen Hoard has scored in double figures in every game – averaging 15.6 – and leads the team in rebounding (7.4). Freshman forward Isaiah Mucius did not score against Davidson after averaging 16.5 points in previous two games and 7-0 sophomore center Olivier Sarr from France scored a career-high 14 in the win over Charlotte on Dec. 6.

• Schofield is averaging 25.7 points over the last three contests to push his season mark to 19.0 – just behind Williams (19.4), who hauls in a team-best 8.3 rebounds per game while shooting 57 percent from the field. Bone (13.7 points) leads the team in assists (6.3) and senior forward Kyle Alexander is a force inside, averaging 9.6 points, 6.9 rebounds and almost two blocks per contest. Junior guard Lamonte Turner (10.0 points), who has missed four straight games with a shoulder injury, and 6-9 sophomore John Fulkerson (shoulder) sat out Wednesday and are questionable for Saturday.

• Hoard can tie Alvis Rogers (10) for the second-longest streak of double-figure games to start a career in Wake Forest history.

• The Volunteers lead the SEC in scoring (84.7) and are third in field-goal percentage (49.7) entering Friday.

• Demon Deacons freshman G Jamie Lewis (three points, 35 minutes) announced he will transfer.
