The New York Islanders seek their fourth win in five contests when they conclude their four-game road trip Sunday against the Dallas Stars. New York defeated Detroit in a shootout at home before beginning its trek with victories at Colorado and Arizona, but the streak was halted with Thursday’s 4-2 setback against Vegas. The Islanders held a 2-0 lead after one period on goals by reigning Calder Trophy winner Mathew Barzal and Brock Nelson but fell apart and suffered their second loss to the Golden Knights in nine days. New York had been stingy on the road prior to the defeat, allowing a total of four tallies in its previous three contests – all victories.

• Dallas managed to end its four-game losing streak on the road Saturday as it edged Minnesota 2-1 in overtime after squandering a lead late in the third period. Alexander Radulov set up captain Jamie Benn’s goal 1:58 into the third before scoring at 4:50 of the extra session to give the Stars their second win in seven overall contests.

• Nelson’s goal against Vegas was his 12th of the season, tying him with captain Anders Lee for the team lead. The 27-year-old Nelson has scored in back-to-back games after netting one in his previous 14 contests. Barzal’s goal Thursday was his 28th point of the season – keeping him tied for first on the club with Josh Bailey, who is riding a four-game assist streak.

• Jason Spezza returned to the lineup Saturday after missing two games with an illness and registered three shots and a plus-1 rating in 16 minutes, 19 seconds of ice time while going 13-4 on faceoffs. Martin Hanzal, who has appeared in only six contests this season, was scratched Saturday because of a sore back. Dallas could be without Jason Dickinson on Sunday as the 23-year-old center exited the win over the Wild after two periods with an upper-body injury.

• New York’s Barry Trotz needs three victories to pull even with Al Arbour (782) for fourth place on the all-time coaching list while G Thomas Greiss is three wins shy of tying Rollie Melanson (77) for sixth in franchise history.

• Stars G Anton Khudobin is expected to get the start against the Islanders after Ben Bishop made 30 saves on Saturday.

• Dallas has outscored New York 16-4 over their last three meetings – all victories by the Stars.
