The Vegas Golden Knights seek their fifth consecutive home victory and eighth in nine overall games when they host the Edmonton Oilers on Sunday. Vegas had its six-game winning streak halted in Calgary on March 10 but bounced back to post a 2-1 triumph at Dallas on Friday. Ryan Reaves snapped a tie early in the third period for the Golden Knights, who own a five-point lead over Arizona for third place in the Pacific Division. The goal was the first since Jan. 6 for Reaves, ending his 25-game drought, and helped Vegas conclude a 2-1-0 road trip.

Edmonton kept alive its slim hopes for a postseason berth Saturday as it edged Arizona 3-2 in overtime to pull within seven points of the Coyotes for the second wild-card spot in the Western Conference. Captain Connor McDavid registered his seventh consecutive multi-point performance as he set up a goal and scored two others, including the game-winner 58 seconds into the extra session.

McDavid, who has reached the 100-point plateau each of the last three seasons, is riding an 11-game streak during which he has collected five goals and 16 assists. The 22-year-old is unlikely to capture his third consecutive Art Ross Trophy, however, as he trails Tampa Bay’s Nikita Kucherov by 14 points. Defenseman Matt Benning has scored in each of his last three games after recording only two goals over his first 56 contests this season.

Marc-Andre Fleury continues to prove he is a top NHL goaltender as he leads the league with 35 victories and has allowed a total of five goals while winning each of his last six starts. The 34-year-old passed Rogie Vachon for 17th place on the all-time list when he appeared in his 796th career game Friday. Max Pacioretty scored his team-leading 22nd goal in the win over the Stars, giving him three points in as many contests after registering the same amount over his previous eight games.

Golden Knights C Jonathan Marchessault has gone eight games without a goal since scoring his 20th on Feb. 22 – which is his lone tally in the last 15 contests.

Edmonton C Leon Draisaitl notched an assist Saturday, giving him points in 15 of his last 16 games and leaving him three shy of 300 for his career.

Vegas C William Karlsson has recorded one goal in his last 12 contests and 19 overall this season after scoring a career-high 43 last campaign.
