• The Los Angeles Kings expect to have a familiar face back in the lineup Sunday afternoon as they attempt to halt their six-game losing streak when they host the road-challenged New York Rangers. Former captain Dustin Brown is slated to make his season debut after missing the Kings’ first 10 games with a broken finger, suffered in the team’s preseason finale. Brown, who registered his highest goal total since 2010-11 last season with 28, hopes to provide some much-needed offense for Los Angeles, which owns a Western Conference-worst minus-18 goal differential. The Kings are last in the West with five points and haven’t won since posting a 3-0 shutout in Montreal on Oct. 11 but hope to begin their seven-game homestand with a triumph over the Rangers, who are 0-3-1 on the road.

• New York, which kicked off its four-game trek Thursday with a 4-1 setback in Chicago, has surrendered a total of 19 goals away from home while being held to one on two occasions. Pavel Buchnevich netted the lone tally against the Blackhawks for the Rangers, who conclude their road trip with contests in San Jose and Anaheim.

• Mika Zibanejad was kept off the scoresheet on Thursday but still leads the team in goals (five) and points (nine). The 25-year-old Swede registered four tallies and three assists in three games prior to the loss in Chicago. Neal Pionk leads all New York defensemen with six points – all assists that he collected in three contests before the start of the road trip.

• Los Angeles has scored more than three goals just once this season and been held to fewer than three in each contest during its slide. Kyle Clifford netted the lone tally in Thursday’s 4-1 loss at Minnesota but came away $4,301.08 poorer as he was fined by the NHL for a kneeing incident in the first period that earned him a minor penalty. Captain Anze Kopitar shares the team lead with three goals and is seven shy of 300 for his career.

• Rangers D Adam McQuaid (lower body) will miss the contest against the Kings but could return to the lineup Tuesday in San Jose.

• Los Angeles G Jonathan Quick has allowed at least three goals in each of his four starts this season.

• New York D Marc Staal’s next game will be his 772nd, tying him with Adam Graves for 10th place on the franchise list among skaters.
