The San Jose Sharks will have revenge on their minds Thursday when they host the Dallas Stars. San Jose, which has won three in a row at home and earned a point in five straight (4-0-1) at SAP Center, dropped a pair of one-goal decisions in Dallas this season, including 3-2 on Friday – the lone setback in its last five contests overall. The Sharks are coming off a 5-2 home victory over New Jersey on Monday in which captain Joe Pavelski scored for the seventh time in eight contests to reach the 20-goal plateau for the sixth consecutive season and 10th time in 11 campaigns. Timo Meier recorded his third multi-point performance in four contests as he recorded a pair of goals to tie Logan Couture and defenseman Brent Burns for the team lead with 30 points.

• Dallas has dropped each of the first two contests on its four-game road trip, including a 6-3 decision at Anaheim on Wednesday. Defenseman Miro Heiskanen and Alexander Radulov converted power-play chances to help give the Stars a 3-1 lead, but they allowed five consecutive goals – four in the third period – en route to falling to 2-5-1 in their last eight away from home.

• Heiskanen has been producing offensively of late, registering two goals and four assists over his last six contests. The 19-year-old rookie, who was the third overall pick in the 2017 draft, has recorded all four of his power-play points (one goal) on the road. Tyler Seguin, who leads the team with 26 points, has been kept off the scoresheet for four straight games and has gone five consecutive contests without a goal.

• San Jose’s third goal Monday was a special one for a pair of players as it was defenseman Radim Simek’s first in the NHL and was set up by Lukas Radil, who notched his first career assist. The 26-year-old Simek has recorded two points in his first five games in the league – the same amount fellow Czech Radil has registered in seven NHL contests. Burns is closing in on a pair of milestones as he needs four points to reach 600 in the league and is seven games shy of 1,000 for his career.

• Meier has collected three goals and four assists in four games after missing three contests with an upper-body injury.

• Dallas captain Jamie Benn has gone three games without a point after notching five goals and two assists over his previous six contests.

• The Sharks assigned Antti Suomela to the San Jose Barracuda on Tuesday and recalled fellow C Rourke Chartier from the American Hockey League club the following day.
