• Colombia and Peru both failed to score in Thursday’s Copa América (CA) double header, which for the Colombians was a fifth consecutive CA group stage match without defeat (W4, D1). It also saw Colombia stretch their unbeaten run as favourites in all competitions to three games (W2, D1), which includes a 3-0 World Cup Qualification demolition of Peru earlier this month.

• Last time out, Peru were handed their heaviest defeat since another drubbing at the hands of Brazil in the 2019 edition of the Copa América. Notably, Peru’s only losses of a 3+ goal margin from 74 matches since the start of 2015 have come against Brazil and in two of their last three clashes with Colombia.
