• Cote d’Ivoire were excellent in the group stages, picking up seven points from their three games and securing a win over defending champions Algeria. They have scored in every game, but have kept just one clean sheet so far.

• Egypt responded to their 1-0 loss to Nigeria with wins over Guinea-Bissau and Sudan and they have kept back-to-back clean sheets. The Pharaohs haven’t really clicked in the final third, however have been doing just enough to get over the line.

• Egypt may have excelled defensively, but Cote d’Ivoire are in superb form and should secure a quarter-final spot on Wednesday afternoon.
