• Liverpool will be looking to get one over title rivals Manchester City in the 2019/20 curtain raiser. The Reds finished one point and one place behind City in the Premier League last season and will look to lay down an early marker.

• City got the better of Liverpool the last time these two met, securing a 2-1 win at the Etihad Stadium, and have enjoyed ample success at Wembley in recent years. However, the potential absence of Aymeric Laporte may cost them defensive stability here.

• If Liverpool can get their key attackers playing to their lofty standards, then they should have no issue in hitting the back of the net it what may be an entertaining affair in this Community Shield clash.
