• Bournemouth ended a four-match winless run with a 4-0 victory at home to Luton in the FA Cup third round last weekend. The Cherries have, however, lost eight of their last 10 in the Premier League.

• Watford’s results have picked up massively since Nigel Pearson’s arrival. Apart from conceding a 3-0 lead to draw 3-3 with Tranmere in the FA Cup third round last weekend, it has been a great period for the Hornets. Nevertheless, Watford are unbeaten in their last five matches in all competitions with wins over Manchester United, Aston Villa and Wolves in that time. They have had a man sent off in their last three outings, however.

• Four of the last six meetings between the two sides have ended in a draw, including each of the last two. Watford have scored at least two in each of their last three trips to Dean Court, which is a worrying trend for Bournemouth fans.
