• Granada will be rather glad they stayed course with Robert Moreno after an improved run of results of late. Last time out, they drew 0-0 with Elche, and that followed a big win over Atletico Madrid. Moreno’s men had also defeated Mallorca before Atletico, so they are now on a run of six La Liga games without defeat, and they head into this one with some extra rest having bowed out of the Copa del Rey in round two.

• Barcelona picked up a crucial away win over Mallorca last time out in La Liga thanks to Luuk de Jong’s winner. In ordinary circumstances, that would go down as a routine win, but Xavi was without as many as 16 players across COVID and injuries. The win over Mallorca followed a draw with Sevilla and a win over Elche, so things are looking up in La Liga, and Barca are now in fifth place, just one point behind Atletico Madrid.

• Barca also came from behind to beat Linares Deportivo in the Copa del Rey during the week thanks to goals from Ousmane Dembele and Ferran Jutgla. Granada are on an improved run, but Barca have wind in their sails and they are getting more and more players back from injury. An away win is most likely here.
