• It’s been a frustrating start to the season for Getafe, who have been relatively strong at the back but to little avail, losing all of their first three games and all by one goal. Michel’s men are only one of two teams, along with Alaves, to have lost all of their games so far, and they will be desperate to put an end to that run here against a an Elche side they will need to be beating if they want to avoid being dragged into some sort of relegation fight, and without star man Marc Cucurella, who left late in the transfer window, such a fate is not out of the questions.

• That’s not totally fair to Elche, however, given the improvements they have made over the summer, adding 13 players to their squad, including the permanent signing of Lucas Boye, who was with the Alicante side on loan last season. Elche have started pretty well, too, although they are yet to pick up a win, drawing twice and losing once. Given their opening fixtures, though, it’s a fine return, with Escriba’s men losing to Atletico Madrid but taking points from both Athletic Club and Sevilla.
