• Valencia return to La Liga action on the back of a key Copa del Rey win over Cadiz last time out thanks to goals from Goncalo Guedes and Hugo Duro, Los Ché’s newest front two combination. Jose Bordalas’ men are now in the semi-finals of the Copa del Rey, and the win follows a defeat to Atletico Madrid last time out in La Liga, with goals from Yunus Musah and the aforementioned Duro not enough to secure a point. Valencia are currently 10th place in the table, but within three points of the final European spot.

• Real Sociedad were one of the best teams in the league in the early stages of the season, but their form has dropped severely, and that was represented by a 4-0 defeat to Real Betis in the Copa del Rey quarter-finals last time out. In La Liga, La Real had managed to defeat Celta Vigo, but they followed that up with a very disappointing draw with strugglers Getafe. They have now fallen to sixth place, and they face a very real threat of dropping out of the European place altogether.

• Valencia will fancy their chances of grabbing a point at home and against a Real Sociedad side bang out of form.
