• Italy’s aspirations of qualifying for the Euro 2022 quarter-finals are still alive, which is perhaps a relief for Milena Bertolini’s side after they conceded inside the opening ten minutes for the second Euro match in a row in a 1-1 draw against Iceland last time out. However, Le Azzurre need to beat opponents Belgium in their final Group D contest to stand any chance of progressing, while also relying on the group-winners not losing to Iceland.

• Whilst Belgium too can still qualify for the quarter finals as long as France don’t lose, the prospect of a second successive Euro group-stage exit haunts Belgium after they lost to France (2-1) despite a temporary glimmer of hope thanks to a first-half equaliser. Curiously, there has been a 1-1 scoreline seen at some point in four of their last five matches, including the previous three in a row, so we can perhaps expect another topsy-turvy encounter here.
