• Rafael Nadal kickstarted his tenth ATP Tour Finals campaign with a routine straight-set win over Andrey Rublev on Sunday. The Spaniard won over 80% of his first-serve points, created five breakpoint chances on the Russian’s serve, and did not face a breakpoint on his serve in the entire match, 6-3 6-4.

• In a rematch of last year’s ATP Tour Finals, Dominic Thiem got the better of the defending champion Stefanos Tsitsipas in three sets. It was an evenly contested match, and the Austrian fighting back from a 1-4 deficit in the first set tiebreaker proved to be decisive in the end, 7-6 4-6 6-3.
