Women’s Australian Open: #4 Krejcikova v. Keys

Who will WIN this matchup?

#4 Barbora Krejcikova (CZE)

Madison Keys (USA)

Current odds:

Barbora Krejcikova: (-138)

Madison Keys: (+110)

Barbora Krejcikova was already on her best singles roll at the tournament when she defeated Victoria Azarenka, 6-2, 6-2, in the fourth round. She was aided by her opponent’s neck injury while winning 87% on her first serves and committing just 12 unforced errors to the former champ’s 28.

Madison Keys has returned to a Grand Slam quarterfinal for the first time since 2019 and her first in Melbourne in four years. She took on world no. 6 Paula Badosa in what was supposed to be her toughest match of the fortnight and instead scored her easiest victory, 6-3, 6-1, in 69 minutes.

Head-to-head: 0-0. Madison Keys would be buoyed after having earned her 20th career top 10 scalp, the first in a major since her 2018 Aussie Open quarterfinal run (d. Caroline Garcia). Sydney finalist Barbora Krejcikova will need a special performance to snap the former US Open finalist.
