• Iga Swiatek had to come back from multiple deficits to book her third Grand Slam final appearance and the first outside red clay. She lost the first set after going two-for-twelve on second serve points and pulled back from 0-2 and 2-4 in the final set to beat sixth seed Aryna Sabalenka, 3-6, 6-1, 6-4.

• Ons Jabeur stopped the 13-match winning streak of first-time Grand Slam semifinalist Caroline Garcia in a matter of only 66 minutes. Having already beaten the Frenchwoman half a dozen times in juniors and seniors, she repeated the past success, 6-1, 6-3, dispatching eight aces and 21 winners.
