• The Green Wave looked like a competent offense for the first time against an FBS opponent last week after struggling to mold the option attack that first-year coach Willie Fritz brought over with more of a passing game. Glen Cuiellette emerged as the starter with his performance in overtime against Louisiana last week and will get the nod over Johnathan Brantley on Saturday.

• The Minutemen had their offensive breakout against Mississippi State last week but could not match the effort on the defensive end and fell 47-35.

• Cuiellette started the opener at Wake Forest but was unimpressive in the 7-3 loss, and Brantley was better running the option in a 66-21 win over Southern in Week 2 to earn himself a start in Week 3.

The Minutemen are having trouble stopping the run – yielding an average of 172.5 yards on the ground – and are minus-three in turnover margin.
