[6:31 PM] Auburn v. Boston College

Who will WIN this matchup?

Auburn Tigers (6-1)

Boston College Eagles (4-5)

Auburn should we well-rested, having not played since its 74-70 win at UAB on Dec. 3 in a game that saw Bruce Pearl’s young stars rally to survive a tough road test.

Meanwhile, the Eagles are coming off what might remain their worst loss, a 65-63 defeat at home against the America East’s Hartford, which entered 2-8 and had never defeated an ACC team.

Jared Harper, one of three freshmen or redshirt freshmen in Pearl’s starting lineup, scored a personal-best 21 points in the win earlier this month over the Blazers. He buried five 3-pointers in eight tries after going 4-for-19 in his previous four contests, and forward Danjel Purifoy made four from beyond the arc for the second time in his last three outings. Senior guard Ronnie Johnson has scored 18 points in 30 minutes off the bench in the past two games.

The Eagles have struggled to find offensive support for leading scorer Jerome Robinson, and they were hampered against the Hawks when the sophomore standout was held to four points on 2-of-13 shooting. A.J. Turner, another sophomore the squad is relying on for scoring punch, led the way with 13 points and seven assists. Boston College shot 34.4 percent from the field and committed 13 turnovers, its ninth straight game to begin the season with at least that many giveaways.

Auburn has a 2-1 series advantage and defeated Boston College 77-67 at home in Dec. 2013.
