Jonas Gustavsson(EDM): Confirmed

The Minnesota Wild aim for the first victory of their five-game road trip when they visit the Edmonton Oilers on Sunday. Minnesota has suffered a one-goal loss in each of the first three contests of its trek, with shootout defeats in St. Louis and Calgary sandwiched around a regulation setback in Vancouver. Captain Mikko Koivu scored the tying goal in Friday’s 3-2 loss in Calgary, giving him at least one point in five of his last six contests.

Edmonton looks to remain perfect this month after beginning it with a road triumph over Winnipeg and an overtime victory against Anaheim at home Saturday. Leon Draisaitl scored in the extra session after the Oilers had blown a pair of leads, giving them just their second win in their last seven contests at Rogers Place. The 21-year-old has tallied three times in his last two games and collected seven goals and six assists over his last 10 matches.

Minnesota is hoping Chris Stewart will begin to heat up after ending his 15-game goal-scoring drought Friday. The tally was the first point for the 29-year-old right wing since Oct. 27, when he notched an assist at Buffalo. Devan Dubnyk has yet to allow more than three goals in a game this season and has yielded two or fewer in five of his last seven contests.

Drake Caggiula had a game he never will forget as he scored the first goal of his NHL career Saturday. The 22-year-old left wing notched an assist in each of his first two contests but was kept off the scoresheet in each of his next five contests prior to the matchup with Anaheim. Connor McDavid’s seven-game point streak came to an end Saturday, but the surge during which he registered six goals and nine assists gave him the league lead with 34 points.

The Wild have scored the first goal in each of their last five games.
