Mystics v. Storm

Who will WIN this matchup?

Washington Mystics (4-11)

Seattle Storm (13-3)

Current odds:

Washington Mystics: (+800)

Seattle Storm: (-1300)

The spread for the game is Seattle by 15 points.

The Storm (13-3) have already clinched a playoff berth and headline a group of five teams most capable of winning the title. Seattle has regrouped from back-to-back losses with a pair of wins, including an 88-74 triumph over Chicago on Saturday that clinched a playoff berth.

Breanna Stewart scored 21 points while Natasha Howard added 17 and 15 rebounds as Seattle’s starting frontcourt totaled 49 points and 28 boards. That was part of a 37-31 advantage on the boards as the Storm improved to 9-1 when outrebounding opponents.

As the Storm try to roll into the postseason, the Mystics (4-11) are fighting just to be a part of it. In their defense, this is a vastly different team that won its first title in franchise history – star forward Elena Delle Donne never entered the “wubble” due to offseason back surgery. Four other key players also never made the trip to Florida, including key offseason acquisition Tina Charles.

The result has been uneven play as Washington is 1 1/2 games behind Dallas for the eighth and final playoff spot with seven to play. The Mystics have lost four straight following a 76-63 defeat to Connecticut on Sunday.
