• The San Francisco Giants aim for their second straight series sweep when they put a season-high four-game winning streak on the line against the visiting Milwaukee Brewers on Sunday. After taking two meetings with San Diego earlier in the week, the Giants have claimed the first two matchups with the Brewers, rallying for an 8-7 triumph Saturday. Stephen Vogt and Brandon Crawford had three hits apiece and San Francisco recorded 15 overall while erasing an early 4-0 deficit. Veteran Jeff Samardzija will hope for similar support from the Giants’ lineup when he starts the series finale opposite fellow right-hander Chase Anderson.

• Christian Yelich homered and scored three times Saturday for Milwaukee, which is 1-3 thus far on its current eight-game road trip. Yelich has three home runs over his last five games to push his major league-leading total to 26.

• Anderson limited Pittsburgh to two runs and four hits with six strikeouts in six solid innings his last time out. It was the longest start of the year for the 31-year-old, who is 2-0 with a 2.50 ERA in three starts at Oracle Park in San Francisco. Buster Posey is 6-for-15 with a pair of doubles against Anderson.

• Samardzija lost for the fourth time in his last five starts after giving up three runs over 5 1/3 innings against the Los Angeles Dodgers on June 8. The Notre Dame product sports a 2.53 ERA in six home starts this year while limiting opponents to a .216 average in those outings. Ryan Braun is 11-for-26 with three home runs against Samardzija while Yelich is 6-for-16 with one homer.

• Giants 1B Brandon Belt has reached safely in 18 straight games.

• Brewers CF Lorenzo Cain is 4-for-25 with seven strikeouts and one walk over his last five contests.

• San Francisco LHP Will Smith gave up the home run to Yelich on Saturday but held on to improve to 18-for-18 in save opportunities.
