Who will WIN this matchup?
Baltimore Ravens (10-2)
@ Buffalo Bills (9-3)
Current odds:
Baltimore Ravens: (-290)
Buffalo Bills: (+240)
• The line for this game is Baltimore by 6.5 points.
• The Baltimore Ravens sit atop the AFC on the strength of an eight-game winning streak and became the Super Bowl favorites after knocking off the San Francisco 49ers 20-17 last week. The Ravens will try to push the winning streak to nine in a row when they face the playoff-hopeful Buffalo Bills on Sunday. Baltimore had a run of three straight games scoring 40 or more points come to an end against the 49ers but managed to pull out the win on Justin Tucker’s game-winning field goal and knows it has some flaws still to correct. “There were a couple of things that we can look at and we can definitely build on and improve on,” Ravens coach John Harbaugh told reporters. “We have to go to work on that. There’s a chance we could see it from Buffalo. We’ll certainly see it before the season is over.”
• Buffalo was flying under the radar before earning a 26-15 win at Dallas on Thanksgiving Day and owns the third-best record in the league behind Baltimore and New England. “Wins are hard to come by, whether it’s against the Dallas Cowboys on Thanksgiving or whomever,” Buffalo coach Sean McDermott told reporters. “Wins in the NFL are hard to come by. I know the amount of hard work that has gone into this season by (general manager) Brandon (Beane) and his staff, and my staff and really, everyone back there in Buffalo.”
• Quarterback Lamar Jackson is on his way to his first MVP award and owns 14 touchdown passes without an interception over the last five games after posting his fourth game with at least 100 yards passing and 100 yards rushing last week. The 22-year-old has Baltimore leading the league in scoring at an average of 33.8 points but is most focused on correcting his few mistakes. “I was mad since the fumble,” Jackson told reporters after losing a fumble against San Francisco. “I was mad the whole time. I put our defense back out there and that was a great offense who they were going against. I didn’t want to give Jimmy (Garoppolo) back the ball. I was hot. We didn’t score.”
• Buffalo quarterback Josh Allen was part of the 2018 draft class along with Jackson and is stamping his own mark on the league as a passing and rushing threat. Allen owns 16 passing TDs and eight rushing scores in 2019 and, like Jackson, recorded one of each without an interception in a key win last week. “Josh is a winner and just a swaggy dude,” Bills tackle Dion Dawkins told reporters. “A swaggy dude with a killer instinct. He just goes after everything that he puts his mind to. As an offensive lineman, I’m just happy to be a part of what the kid is doing.”
• Jackson needs 63 rushing yards to pass Michael Vick (1,039) for the record for most by a QB.
• Bills RT Ty Nsekhe (ankle) missed practice Wednesday and could sit out his fourth straight game.
• Baltimore crushed Buffalo 47-3 at home last season behind three TD passes from former QB Joe Flacco.
