• Weidman, a sneaky grappler, has taken down every fighter he’s ever faced in UFC and Romero will be no exception. Despite his Olympic background, Romero was wrestled to the ground by Ronny Markes (twice) and Derek Brunson (thrice), and Weidman holds a noticeable size advantage.

• In addition, his reach is a whopping five inches longer. That will become his greatest weapon when they stand and bang because no fighter at 185 pounds can do a better job of walking down his opponent and cutting off the cage. Romero will consistently find himself in reverse, lest he plant his feet and go for broke.

• Weidman is too big and fights too intelligently to donate to charity, which means a tired and punched-out Romero will find himself grounded and pounded late in the third frame. A rear-naked choke during a desperate scramble would not surprise me.
