• The Los Angeles Dodgers had their bats moving in the series opener and look for another high-scoring output on Wednesday, when they host the Toronto Blue Jays for the middle contest of their three-game set. The Dodgers are a sparkling 49-16 at home after rolling to a 16-3 victory in Tuesday’s contest. Impressive rookie Bo Bichette hit two homers off Los Angeles ace Clayton Kershaw on Tuesday and has gone deep seven times in his first 21 games. Toronto’s other phenom, Vladimir Guerrero Jr., was back in the lineup after a missing one contest due to a knee injury and reached base four times on two singles and two walks.

• Chris Taylor came off the injured list to contribute a homer and four RBIs as the Dodgers racked up 10 extra-base hits (five homers, five doubles) in the series-opening victory. Cody Bellinger drove in three runs to reach 100 RBIs for the first time in his career and is two behind Atlanta’s Freddie Freeman for the National League lead.

• Font is expected to get the call as the “opener” as the Blue Jays go with a bullpen game for the second straight night. The 29-year-old opened Sunday’s game against Seattle, giving up one run and three hits over two innings while taking the loss. That is the only run allowed over the last six appearances and 12 1/3 innings for Font, who is 1-1 with a 2.45 ERA in nine games for Toronto – his third team of the season.

• Buehler experienced a shaky outing on Thursday, when he gave up five runs and five hits over four innings while losing to Miami. The 25-year-old was superb in his previous two outings, registering 15 strikeouts while allowing one run in a complete-game win over San Diego on Aug. 3 and tossing six scoreless innings in a no-decision against Arizona six days later. Buehler has been solid at home, where he has posted a 5-0 record and 2.33 ERA in 11 starts.

• The Dodgers activated the versatile duo of Taylor (forearm) and Enrique Hernandez (hand) from the 10-day injured list, placed INF Kristopher Negron (neck) on the IL, recalled Dylan Floro from Oklahoma City and optioned fellow RHP Casey Sadler and OF Kyle Garlick to the Triple-A affiliate.

• Toronto recalled INF Richard Urena, who allowed four runs while pitching one inning on Tuesday, from Buffalo and optioned LHP Thomas Pannone to the Triple-A affiliate.

• Los Angeles INF Max Muncy has homered in four straight games to raise his season total to 32, three behind last year’s career best.
