Pannone makes his first start of the season after allowing one run on four hits with five strikeouts and a walk across five innings out of the bullpen. The 24-year-old Rhode Island native was 4-1 with a 4.54 ERA in six starts last season, but walked 14 over 35 2/3 innings in the role. Pannone, who pitched four scoreless innings against Baltimore on April 1, limited Cleveland to two runs on four hits over 6 1/3 frames to earn the win September 9.

Carrasco struggled in his 2019 debut, giving up six runs on 10 hits and a walk with four strikeouts across 4 1/3 innings in a loss at Minnesota on Sunday. The 32-year-old Venezuela native, who totaled 35 wins over the last two seasons combined, threw 65 pitches before being pulled against the Twins. Rowdy Tellez is 2-for-3 with a pair of doubles against Carrasco, who is 3-1 with a 4.78 ERA in eight career games (seven starts) versus the Blue Jays.

Cleveland 3B Jose Ramirez was held out of the staring lineup Friday and walked as a pinch hitter after x-rays on his toe were negative.

Toronto OF Billy McKinney, who batted .252 last year, is 0-for-15 in the last five contests.
