Pomeranz is hoping to bounce back following a disappointing season with Boston in which he battled control issues over 26 games (11 starts). The 30-year-old native of Tennessee looked sharp during spring training, going 2-1 with a 2.81 ERA and 15 strikeouts in five games (three starts). Pomeranz owns a 1-4 record and 3.48 ERA in eight career games (six starts) against the Dodgers but has limited David Freese to a pair of hits in 14 at-bats.

Urias missed most of last season while recovering from shoulder surgery but earned a rotation spot after posting a 1.72 ERA in six games (five starts) this spring. “He was great,” Dodgers manager Dave Roberts told reporters. “I don’t think we could’ve asked for anything more from Julio this spring.” Urias made his major-league debut as a 19-year-old in 2016 and recorded a 3.39 ERA in 18 games (15 starts), but injuries limited him to a total of 27 1/3 innings over the past two seasons.

San Francisco 1B Brandon Belt has recorded one hit while striking out four times in his first 11 at-bats.

Los Angeles has homered in eight straight games dating back to last season.
